ASICS and the Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand, Pleasures have come together for a nature-inspired take on the Pleasures x ASICS GEL-NYC. Combining ASICS’ classic style with Pleasures’ bold designs and cultural commentary, the shoe is representative of the various cycles of sensory nature a California resident is exposed to in their daily lives according to Alex James, Co-Founder and Director of PLEASURES. It's constructed from a light pink mesh upper with tonal suede overlays, brown nubuck toe cap and mudguard, and pink and yellow TPU tiger stripes- a color combo reminiscent of vintage '90s hiking shoes. PLEASURES stamped on the toes, ASICS on the rear quarter and yellow embroidered 'A' on the tongue and 'GEL' on the heel take care of the branding. It sits on a GEL-infused brown midsole, while brown laces, pink lining and brown co-branded insoles complete the design.
