Since opening our doors in 2015, Lapstone & Hammer has been committed to artistry, innovation and craftsmanship in both the goods we carry and the spaces where we display them. With that commitment in mind, we celebrated our two year anniversary with an event that featured the debut of our brand new luxury annex. Located in our completely redesigned and expanded back room, this space will house footwear, apparel and accessories from high-end designers like Comme des Garçons, Rick Owens, A.P.C., Très Bien, Aimè Leon Dore and more.
Our two year anniversary also coincided with the launch of three house brands: Lapstone & Hammer FW17, Pauline's Bridal Shoppe and Evans Apothecary. These brands pay tribute to the shops that once existed in our Historical Landmark Building, and embrace the artistry and traditions of those that came before us.
The event featured music by the legendary DJ Clark Kent, an open bar with catered refreshments, and a special guest appearance by John Geiger with an exclusive re-release of five colors of his coveted 001 sneaker.
Like the product displayed within its walls, the new expansion has been painstakingly designed by Kate Rohrer from ROHE CREATIVE and built with an acute attention to detail so as to project an air of elegance and beauty from floor to ceiling. Staying true to the Art Deco roots of our historical building, we incorporated key elements from Markham Ashberry's 1933 design to live alongside contemporary, state-of-the-art features in a retro-futuristic aesthetic. We are proud and excited to finally complete the Lapstone & Hammer concept, and open up this space for the public to experience.
