GLIM VOL. 5: “IT’S DANGEROUS BUSINESS WALKING OUT YOUR FRONT DOOR”

GLIM VOL. 5: “IT’S DANGEROUS BUSINESS WALKING OUT YOUR FRONT DOOR”

Your boy Glim(@glimbutter) is back with a brand new album and his 5th cut-and-sew collection to go along with it, both of them entitled “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door”. Dropping on Saturday 5/16, the collection will be available in-store and online at 10am, with a pop-up experience that night from 7-10pm at our new event space, Pauline's, on 1107 Sansom St. (entrance is right behind the shop). Slather on some glimbutter and step into the Glimmerverse once more!

The latest project from Trenton Calloway pays homage to the classic Underøath song of the same name, and in many ways is his most personal collection yet with references to his hometown and childhood musical tastes. It features six new pieces:

  • the “hometown hero” grass colored long sleeve that simply reads “hamburg” on the front which is the name of glim’s hometown, the inside of the shirt shows a photo of his elementary school and a quote that reads “it hurts like hell knowing everything could have been different” making this the most personal piece from the collection.
  • the “crypt castle” dairy colored waffle knit has a slightly cropped fit and vintage details the graphic depicts an otherworldly castle
  • the “star child” black waffle knit fits just like its cream counterpart the outside front of the shirt has a dark grey image of a child playing with a mythical bug creature (god knows why or what this damn designer is thinking) the inside of the shirt features a red jester figure with his pet cat
  • the “dark mage” trashed black hoodie has no graphics on the front making this a more understated piece the white “glim star” motif down the left sleeve and the 8 bit wizard graphic on the back and the new glim “symbol” on the hood
  • the “gargoyle” stone polo has a zip neck closure a dark red gargoyle print on the right side under the arm and a black embroidered glim symbol on the left shoulder
  • the “tryout” charcoal mesh pants feature a wide baggy fit, the very heavy weight mesh has a vintage effect and an inverted “glim star” is repeated down the side of the left leg

As always with Glim, self expression and self analysis go hand-in-hand to fuel the creative output.

Glim Vol. 5: “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door” will be available at Lapstone in-store & online on Saturday, 5/16 @ 10:00am, with a pop-up experience at Pauline's 1107 Sansom St. from 7-10pm featuring Dj sets by @xpcache, @djcolonelpop, & @else11s, drinks, and some art installations.
